Really enjoyed this fun workshop learning to carve my own art stamps from Kayann Ausherman! It brings my own art to another level to use designs that are unique to me.
These are quick little pieces of art not meant to be long, involved process. Keeps your art "muscles" supple! :)
Enjoyed an amazing workshop with the talented Nathalie Kalbach this weekend in Edmond, Oklahoma. Loved her theme of exploring techniques of some of the artist greats. Below are some samples of my work from the weekend.
Technique inspired by Andy Warhol
Blotted dot technique inspired by Andy Warhol.
A cool monoprinting technique using acetate and a gelli plate, a la Werkman
First daily drawings! The first one is inspired by an amazing speaker I heard today. #the366dayproject
One of my finished pieces from last night, finally dry. Catching up my Inspiration Wednesday challenges from last year. Only two more spreads to go! This one's another fave -- love making those flowers.
One of tonight's spreads. I don't own any large face stamps, so I hand drew this face.... #InspirationWednesday
One of two spreads tonight! Love being creatively productive! #InspirationWednesday
The first page in my 2016 Inspiration Wednesday journal. Thanks to donna downey for the inspiration!
Catching up in my 2015 Inspiration Wednesday journal with donna downey. Gotta start 2016!
Finished this tonight. An 8x8 canvas featuring a gel medium transfer and hand-textured copper edges. My son, who is featured in the transfer, came by while I was working and told me I ought to give him this for Christmas, LOL. Started the canvas in a workshop with Jen Starr the previous weekend.
A leather cuff bracelet I handmade tonight for a friend. The stain turned out a little darker than I wanted, though.
A fun holiday canvas I made tonight! Inspired by the talented Stephen Lursen.
Doing some catch-up in my Inspiration Wednesday journal, one of my favorite Donna Downey workshops.
Holding an Art Club meeting at my son's school, where I usually get a dozen or so students (mostly elementary and junior high) who spend a few hours of their Saturday morning making some cool mixed media art. This session: Mixed media initials on canvas, using college and acrylics.
Held a bracelet cuff workshop at my home with about eight artist friends, taught by Kayann Ausherman with From Victory Road. Let me tell you, we had a FANTASTIC time making these gorgeous bracelets out of leather, paint, snaps and adornments.
